About Me

I am a hydrology and water resources professional working in the field of flood forecasting and disaster risk reduction in Bangladesh. My academic and professional interests focus on hydrology of watersheds, operational flood forecasting, transboundary river basin management, hydro-meteorological modelling, climate resilience, and early warning systems.


My research has particularly focused on the Teesta Basin and flash flood forecasting using grided rainfall data integrated with hydrodynamic modelling systems. I am interested in combining scientific research, operational forecasting, and decision support systems to improve disaster preparedness and resilience.

Development of a Flash Flood Forecasting Model for Teesta Basin at Dalia Barrage Using Observed and Satellite Data

  • Research on transboundary river basin forecasting.
  • Developed a flash flood forecasting framework for the Teesta Basin.
  • Applied hydrodynamic modelling using MIKE platform.
  • Integrated observed rainfall, satellite rainfall, and WRF forecast rainfall.
  • Evaluated ECMWF rainfall forecasts to improve lead-time forecasting.
